For water softeners that need a support media bed, use the uncrushed gravel for under-bedding. This support media bed maintains the quality of the treated water, specifically in softeners. Three-inch layers are recommended for graded support beds to promote good water flow and even water distribution through the under-bedding.
Water softener gravel comes steam cleaned. However, a minimal amount of dust may be collected during shipping but can be rinsed off during your softener's backwashing cycle. You may need a water softener loading funnel to pour gravel and other water softener media into the tank.
